PRAIRIE REIGN ATHLETES COMPETE AT MANITOBA PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
posted May 6, 2024, 5:45 PM
Prairie Reign's competitive team members recently competed at the Manitoba Provincial Gymnastics Championships, held April 26–28 (levels 2–4) and May 5th (levels 5–7). The stakes were high as athletes battled it out for gold, set their sights on achieving a qualifying score to move to the next level or aimed to successfully compete new skills. This is the power of gymnastics and competition—setting personal goals, diligently practicing, and putting that practice into action in front of a crowd. Winning doesn't just come in the form of medals and trophies! Each Prairie Reign athlete who competed did so with grace, focus and determination and we are immeasurably proud of them all!
Some of the highlights include:
- Quinn S – all-around champion!
- Lily L, Blake S and Sabrina S – bars champions!
- Ariel B, Quinn S and Alina E – beam champions!
- Ariel B and Quinn S – floor champions!
- Ariel B, Lily L, Blake S and Sabrina S – all-around silver medalists!
- Lindy S, Blake S and Emmanuelle G – silver medalists on vault!
- Ariel B, Aria S, Maria T and Kalia T – silver medalists on bars!
- Sabrina S – silver medalist on beam!
- Kalia T and Blake S – silver medalists on floor!
- Kalia T – all-around bronze medalist!
- Lauren B, Gabrielle S and Violet C – bronze medalists on vault!
- Isla M and Madeline B – bronze medalists on bars!
- Madeline B, Blake S, Avery B and Emmanuelle G – bronze medalists on beam!
- Hailey F, Alina E and Sabrina S – bronze medalists on floor!
Our proudest moments were the numerous times Prairie Reign athletes cheered on their teammates and other competitors, seeing Harlow Y successfully compete a skill for the first time (the roar of cheering from her teammates was likely heard from miles away), several athletes achieving their best scores ever and some athletes sticking their bars or beam routine for the first time in competition!
Well done everyone!
